Your body does NOT need to “detox” or “cleanse”!

The only cleansing your body needs is a shower once a day. Your liver and kidneys will do the “detoxing”.

A friend and personal trainer just asked me if there is anything to a new “health” product that a number of her clients are talking about.

The “health” product claims to remove toxins and impurities, boost your energy and vitality and of course, help you lose weight. 

I am trying not to name names, but this could just about be any weight loss or “detox” product out there, as they mostly claim the same things. 

They even state the product is “clinically proven”. Now, I don’t know about you, but I sometimes have trouble differentiating reliable evidence from unreliable evidence. Unfortunately much of the “clinically proven” products floating around do not stand up to the claims they make when properly scrutinised. 

If you are considering the latest weight loss or “wellness” product, take a moment to reflect on what other “detoxes” or “cleanses” you have tried… If you have tried others, my question to you is, if they are so successful, why are you thinking about spending more money on another one?

If you have lost weight and felt better on a “detox”, it’s not due to a specific product, it’s because you ate less high calorie processed food and consumed more low calorie fresh food.

Stop wasting money on heavily marketed products that you know deep down won’t work. Instead, draw up a weekly meal plan, do a food shop, fill your fridge and cupboards with healthy food and JUST EAT REAL FOOD.
